Barnesmore is pleased to announce that over 70 champions have now been bred or owned in various breeds worldwide since the affix was originally registered in the late sixties.  We have now produced 60 Whippet champions English & Irish, with overseas champions in 10 different countries, as well as champions in the following breeds:-  Afghan Hounds, Greyhounds, Deerhounds, Ibizan Hounds, Shih Tzu, Lhasa Apso, Pugs and Boxers.  Other breeds also campaigned to top awards include Irish Wolfhounds and Briard, as well as handling to their titles several Ballymaconnell Basset Hounds for the late Mike and Gypsy Bridgeham's famous kennel, pioneers of the breed in Ireland.  Out of the show ring other canine activities include whipper-in to a hunting pack of Basset Hounds, breeding track winning greyhounds and having numerous successes with working collies in the field of obedience.  We are proud of the fact that the world famous Barnesmore affix is synonymous with quality and excellent movement, and the term "moves like a Barnesmore" is praise indeed for any hound.  At Barnesmore we strive for quality and breed type in any breed and, with our great depth of experience in working and racing dogs, we place great emphasis on correct movement in our hounds.  If you are looking for a top class Whippet, Greyhound or Ibizan Hound then give us a call and we shall have something to please you.  As well as the hounds, the occasional pug puppy is sometimes available.  For the more adventurous among you we have now added registered Connemara ponies to the team and hopefully in the future you will be able to purchase a Barnesmore Connemara for showing or breeding or as a well-schooled quality riding pony for the kids.
